# About Poby

Post-purchase experience feedback for Shopify, built by AwesomeSoft.

## What Poby is

Poby is a post-purchase experience feedback app for Shopify stores. It puts a short feedback widget on the thank-you page and the order-status page, asking a shopper how the **shopping experience** felt — not what they think of the product — while the visit is still fresh. Ratings roll up into an analytics dashboard inside the merchant's Shopify admin: response trends, rating distribution, top issues, and traffic sources.

## The problem it answers

Store analytics report what happened — sessions, bounce rates, conversion — never how any of it felt. Post-purchase surveys sent by email arrive days later, once the details are forgotten. Product review apps ask shoppers to rate the item, not the buying experience. Poby exists in the gap between those three: a short, specific survey, asked at the one moment a buyer is both willing and able to answer honestly.

## What it deliberately is not

Poby is not a product review app — its ratings are private operational feedback and never appear on a storefront. It is not an email survey tool — there is no list, no schedule, one submission per order. It is not a research platform — no branching logic, no question bank; it stays short on purpose and nudges a merchant who turns on too many rating dimensions at once. A fuller comparison against the other categories of feedback tool is on the [blog](https://getpoby.com/blog/post-purchase-feedback-tools-compared.html).

## Who builds it

Poby is a product of [AwesomeSoft](https://awesomesoft.io) — not a separate company, a brand AwesomeSoft builds and operates directly. Support, product decisions, and data handling for Poby all run through AwesomeSoft — there is no separate vendor or reseller involved. Poby is a newly launched product; rather than lead with borrowed testimonials, the [pricing section](https://getpoby.com/#pricing) and the trust section on the home page list only what is independently verifiable today.

## How data is handled

Poby reads a customer's name and email from the Shopify order behind a response, solely so the merchant can identify who left it and follow up — never for marketing, and it is excluded from CSV export. Every access to a name or email is written to an audit log. Shopify's GDPR data-request, data-erasure, and shop-redaction webhooks are implemented, not bolted on later. Full detail is in the [Privacy Policy](https://getpoby.com/privacy.html), the [Data Processing Agreement](https://getpoby.com/dpa.html), and a walkthrough with diagrams on the [blog](https://getpoby.com/blog/how-your-feedback-data-flows.html).
